Merry Christmas!!

I hope you and your families have a very Merry Christmas. I have been gone for awhile so let me get you caught up to speed.

First Baton Rouge experience a snow storm that blanketed Tiger Stadium and LSU's campus. I have some great pictures given to me that I will post.

Defensive Coordinator Bradley Dale Peveto accepted the head coaching job at Northwestern State. He will finish the season with the Tigers at the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

The other Defensive Coordinator Doug Mallory is rumored to be accepting a the Defensive Coordinator position at New Mexico State. He has been publicly offered the job but has not confirmed or denied accepting it.

I know this blog is about football but I would like to recongize the LSU Baseball team who received a Pre-Season 1st place ranking.

Also LSU has signed its first commitment. 20 players have verbal commited, but Junior College Kicker Derek Helton has become the first signee. He is a three star recuit.

Jefferson will start in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl

I was not studying and reading a countdown to the Shepard Era article when it said that Jordan Jefferson will be starting the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. A MAJOR Advantage here for the Tigers since Jefferson is only meaningful playing time was a game and a half therefore little game film for GT to study. Woop!
BTW: Jefferson Alma Mater Destrehan won its second strait 5-A Louisiana state title

The article itself is AWESOME!! Check it out!!

Just Peachy...

I know it is no longer the Peach Bowl, but what good phrase goes with chicken??? LSU accepted the invitation to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta, Ga, against Georgia Tech. The game is at 6:30pm on New Year's Eve. Okay... so this could get interesting. LSU's run defense hasn't been that great which is kinda an understatement. GT has an awesome run game. Jonathan Dwyer averages 110 yards per game with 7 yards a carry. Yes you can cringe in fear and I won't make fun. The passing attack isn't fantastic but the Tiger pass defense isn't either. The huge advantage that people won't realize is that Jefferson is now a experience weapon. Whether he starts or not is the question. I think he will which means Crowton will have a whole month to play with the offensive playbook. Another thing is the defense. Mallory (and Peveto [The world is sure he is going to Northwestern so this wouldn't affect him]) has a fire under his butt since people are calling for his head or demotion. He has the potenial to get this defense ready and he has well enough time to do so.

Sorry I have been distant but it is exam time so I have to back off a bit.

Message from My Brother...

I saw a post by a guy calling for Les Miles' head.

He made this statemen:"I have never seen a lsu player act like the way they did agenst ark."

I responded in a long tirade:Really? Then you must not have been watching football for very long. That kind of shit happens all the time. What do you think Petrino was telling the lineman blocking Tremaine? "Ok, we're not gonna make a 3rd and 29, so spit in his face and get him to punch you."You think that's the first time an LSU player has done something stupid and given the other team an advantage? You're a moron then. "Oh but they've lost RESPECT!!!" How do you? Did you ask them? Are they on some website posting silly rants? I think you've lost resect so therefore you think everybody else has. Seriously, you're sounding like a whiney spoiled child, and I really think you didnt start really watching LSU football unill 2003 otherwise you wouldn't be so quick to want to "clean house." I'm not gonna defend this season because it was awful, but this season was doomed as soon as RP was dismissed and everyone knew that. If you fire Les Miles his year, then you're pretty much guaranteeing yourself another3-5 years of horrible football. You won't find any good coach willing to come to a program that fires the head coach one year after a contract extension and a National Championship and the year of a possible number 1, probably top 3 recruiting class. You'll end up with a Bobby Petrino or another Gerry Dinardo and you're program will be laughing stock again. But I can't say I'm suprise by this. This is the way LSU fans seem to have been ever since the 2003 season. Hell, Miles was winning 10 games a season and beating the best of the nation and they were still calling for his head. Why?Because they're scared. Scared to be back on the underbelly of college football. Scare of another 2 straight years without a bowl game. We've seen how bad it can be, and as soon as some fans see anything less than perfection, they panic.Things are bad, but they could be a hell of a lot worse. In 2002, Nick Saban's team looked a lot like this one. They lost a great QB and had to play one that wasn't ready, the defense coudn't stop anyone, they couldn't beat anyone decent, never showed up to pay, oh and, how ironic, they lost to Arkansas by one point. In that season, they were one last second play away from being in the same position we are in now. They also a lot easier schedule in that year too; the SEC wasn't near a loaded a it is this year. A lot of people that year, after and SEC championship the year before, were saying that Saban wasn't good enough. "Let's get rid of him while we can before he brings us down further." Now what would have happened if we had done that? One sub-par season, one mediocre season, one less than elite season and you want to scuttle the entire football program? Well, go ahaed. I'm sick of fghting with idots. I hope you get your way so you can see how stupid your way of thinking really is.Another thing to think about, think of all the people we lost last year.

- DC Bo Pelini who had remade the defense from scratch and developed a system that was a top 5 defense 3 years straight. That's why Les promoted Peveto and Mallory. He wanted to keep the same system. It just didn't work. Time to bite the bullet on that one.
- QB Matt Flynn- no one knew he offense better than he did and no one was a better leader for the offense than him.
- QB Ryan Perrilloux- all the talent in the world and the support of his teamates. That's just as important as good coaching, but he managed to piss it all away
- RB Jacob Hester-can you think of a better example of lead by example. Here was a guy who would never give up, never back down, never give less than 110% and wouldn't anyone around him do that either.
- WR Early Doucet- He was a member of he best WR corp in all of NCAA football in 2006. He made sure that the position of WR always had consistency and that every guy who played WR knew exactly what to do and how to do it.
- OL Will Arnold- I know he never actually played, but can you think of a smarter O lineman you have ever seen? This guy made sure that everyone who got in a three point stance knew what they needed to do.
- Keith Zinger TE- couldn't catch worth a shit, but damn he could open up some holes.
- Glenn Dorse DL- the most decorated player in LSU history, nuff said.
- Ali Heismith- was a semi-finalist for the Butkiss award. Always made the tackle, always had the D ready on every down, and always took off the QB's head of his name was Todd Boekman.
- Craig Stetz S- Wide receivers were scared of catching the all when he was hovering cause they knew as soon as it got there so would he, and he doesn't play nice. Every DB knew that with no. 16 back there, they could stop anyone. Was also a finaist for the Thorpe award.
- Jonathan Zenon CB- one of the most solid corners to play at LSU since Corey Webster. Saved our ass in the SEC Chapionship Game.
- Chevis Jackson CB- pretty much same description as for Zenon.
- Shawn Jordan FB- almost forgot about him. This man was a freight train. Not to take away from Quinn Johnson, but he plowed through LB's like a combine through corn.

Those are just the people I can remeber. Now think purely objectively, if I told you that a team, any team, was going to lose all those people, all that talent, all that leadership, all that experience, all that confience, how good would you seriously expect them to be?Everyone should've known this would be a rough season, the only suprising part is how bad the defense has become. I think everyone knew they wouldn't be as good, but this is ridiculous. It comes back to the loss of leadership, loss of experience. We lost 4 of the most solid and consistent playing defensive players in school history, we were doomed to fall.It won't stay this way though, mark my word. We'll be back soon enough.

Let Me Explain...

I was in Washington, D.C. computer-less and I completly forgot to post : ). So let me recap. LSU suffered back to back losses to Ole Miss and Arkansas. Ole Miss was disgraceful in all ways but one... I finally got to see Jordan Jefferson play!! Not only that...are you ready for this... I MET HIM!!!! My year is complete. You jealous yet??? Arkansas was heartbreaking and if i were to do my full recap... LES MILES would be in the dog house. I understand that relationships with teamates is important to a coach, but he has yet to find that line. Termane Johnson's personal foul is so uncalled for. What bothered me most was that Les Miles gave him a hug. Umm... how about no. He shouldn't have had an ear at the moment. Chris Hawkins would also be in the dog house. All afternoon he was getting burned, but the winning touchdown was terrible. I just watched it again and no lie he watches the ball as London Crawford caught it. That is the worse coverage since the speedo was created. So for the paper I, of course, write about sports. I was assigned a LSU Football wrap-up. So I have decided to post it for y'all's enjoyment.

Expectations were high for this year’s LSU football team and the team fell short, at least in fans’ eyes. The Tigers were coming off of a magical National Championship Season were picked by some to repeat that title. Talent was not something that was short for Les Miles’s 2008 team, but over the season it seems that mistakes and execution is what held the team back. Most fans seem to blame the Tigers inconstancy on the quarterback position where 3 players have started at that position, but the problem was much deeper than that. The position became a question mark after the extremely talented Ryan Perrilloux was dismissed from the team after a number of problems. In the 1st three games Andrew Hatch started, but shared snaps with Redshirt Freshman Jarrett Lee. In the win at Auburn, Hatch suffered a mild concussion and Lee took over the starting role after that. Lee was greatly criticized due to the 16 interceptions on the season with 7 of them returned for touchdowns. In the loss to Ole Miss, Lee was injured with a high ankle sprain allowing the anticipated freshman Jordan Jefferson to see some real playing time. Jefferson started in the game against Arkansas, but the Tigers lost in the final minutes. Another problem on the Tiger team was the inexperienced defensive secondary. The players improved towards the end of the season but were greatly exploited in blowout losses to Florida and Georgia. The most underachieving aspect of the LSU team was the defensive line. Coming into the season the LSU Defensive Line was arguably the most talented front in the nation, but during the season it failed to perform. The defensive unit as a whole was by far the biggest disappointment on the team. Senior Lynley Blanchard said, “The Defense’s performance this year makes me think that LSU needs a new Defensive Coordinator.” Currently the defense is headed by first year Co- defensive coordinators Doug Mallory and Bradley Dale Peveto after Bo Pelini left LSU for the Head Coaching Position at Nebraska. The team as a whole seems to lack preparedness and discipline which reflects coaching. The Offensive Line and Running Game was a highlight of the season even though running game began to slow in the last few games. The season’s greatest highlights were comeback wins against Auburn for the first win in Jordan- Hare Stadium in 10 years, South Carolina, and against Troy for the biggest comeback in school history. LSU’s hardest loss came against #1 ranked Alabama and former coach Nick Saban. The game ended in regulation with Ricky Jean-Francois blocking a potential game winning field goal forcing overtime. In Overtime Jarrett Lee threw his forth interception of the game to give Alabama the ball back in order to score. The season ended with 3 straight SEC Loses to Alabama, Ole Miss, and Arkansas, the first time since 1999. The LSU ended their season at 7-5 and 3-5 in SEC.

Commitment #20: Lamin Barrow

Yay.... Number 20 or Number 21 depending on who you ask (I'll explain later). Barrow is a Linebacker from Marreo who is a 3-star recruit.

Now about the #21 thing, according to ESPN, top safety recruit Craig Loston decommitted from Clemson and committed to LSU. According to Tiger Rag, Loston didn't commit yet but the inside linebacker Willie Ferrel did (Ferrel is rumored to have decommitted from LSU but reassured LSU and Tiger Rag this past week. http://www.tigerrag.com/?p=4224). So whatever, these people need to figure this out. It is confusing.

LSU- Ole Miss is now called the Magnolia Bowl

LSU and Ole Miss student bodies decided on a official rivalry game, the Magnolia Bowl. The two student bodies created a trophy to go to the winner, like "The Boot." They used the logos of LSU, Ole Miss, and SEC to make a logo for the rivalry. I can't seem to find a picture of the trophy if anyone does email it to me lsu_girl@live.com.

Commit #19: Dominique Allen

LSU picked up its 19th commitment this week. Dominique Allen is a 3 start fullback from Paris, Tennessee. He was oringially committed to Tennessee until Phil Fulmer was fired. I haven't watch his video so I don't know much. If you have seen the vid, let me know how he looks.

MIKE IS IN LAST PLACE!!!

How did that happen?? umm... yeah this is the last week so if he has any hope of being in the playoffs he needs to kill his opponent this week. Who I wouldn't mind killing. He is against that anorexic Auburn Tiger this week. Take him down

Abridged Power Rankings

It is the week before I go out of town so I can really do my full power rankings. These shouldn't be a shocker to anyone though.

1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Georgia
4. LSU
5. Vanderbilt
6. Ole Miss
7. South Carolina
8. Arkansas
9. Kentucky
10. Mississippi State
11. Auburn

What the Heck?????????

Ok so...what the heck!?!?

Where was our defense in the first half? did they fall off the face of the world and somehow magically reappear? I mean seriously. 24 points in the first half to TROY!!!! are you kidding me...that is ridiculous. Bo Pelini would have never let that happen. This whole co-coordinator thing is not working out to well and needs to be fixed!

Now Jarrett Lee...oh do i have a lot to say about him today... Ok so the first half i wanted to kill the guy. After his pick 6, everyone started booing. I jumped up and down and screamed like a maniac because Jarrett Lee's brother was sitting next to me. He started screamin and yelling at everyone around us to shut up and then there was a fight and well lets say the Lee family did not win. The second half on the other hand, was pretty good. not great but good. But seriously, why can't he be that good all the time. He has theses times where he is just amazing and then all of a sudden he is horrible. I just do not understand.

So was anyone else pumped when Jordan Jefferson took the field. I freakin flipped out. For his first game he was pretty awesome. He got his first touchdown!!! and all around he was just amazing!!!

Did You Know... Jordan Jefferson has never lost a game since his freshmen year in high school!!! woop woop!!! I guess he should play more often!!!

If anyone has any incite to Jarrett Lee being bipolar on the field, I would really appreciate it.

LSU Football is Bi-polar

They are good and then they are not. It is kinda annoying. So I am not doing a normal recap because this was not a normal game. It was like watching two different games, one in the first half, one in the second. Shame on those who left early even though at one point I almost did. I sat in the student section which was interesting, but fun. Jarrett Lee can live... for now. Chad Jones can have a cookie. LaFell can have one too. The defense though needs to see a doctor.

VOTE FOR MIKE!!!!

He is losing right now by 30 votes. VOTE VOTE VOTE

LSU picks up 2 more Commits this week

I knew about the first one on Monday, but I kinda forgot to post it :)

First is Akiem Hicks who is a 4 star junior college recruit out of Sacramento, California. Yeah.. that's far. There is no video on this guy so I can't tell you too much about him.

Second is an 2 star athlete out of Shreveport named Morris Claiborne. This one doesn't have a video either but it does say he was recent offered a scholarship from LSU and took it very quickly.

This makes 18 commits, remember there was a decommit and then a scholarship offer taken back.

LSU- Ole Miss to kick-off at 2:30pm

Is anyone else sick of CBS and their ruining of LSU's tradition of "Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium"? I don't like day games, we have lost all of them except one this year.

Weekend Pick 6

Sorry that the Power Rankings were late but hey the pick 6 is early so maybe they balance???

Georgia at Auburn- Georgia: A loss to Georgia will put more pressure on Tuberville.

ULM at Ole Miss- Ole Miss: This ain't Bama 'Hawks. This one could get ugly.

South Carolina at Florida- Florida: Nope, no upset here, but it is a closer one than the last few Gator games.

Mississippi State at Alabama- Alabama: This is actually a hard one to pick for me. This could be an upset, but I don't want to get killed for saying it if State gets killed.

Troy at LSU- LSU: Did you have to ask? Jefferson should get some major playing time.

Vanderbilt at Kentucky- Vanderbilt: The 'dores become bowl -eligible with this big road win.

SEC Power Rankings

1. Florida- They are just peaking at the right time.

2. Alabama- That win won't have been a win if LSU didn't have 4 picks. With a decent QB LSU would have won that game 21-7.

3. Georgia- Umm.. this might now last since Kentucky put 38 points on that "awesome" defense.

4. LSU- Okay, so LSU won that game but no one will say that in public. They really control their own density when it come to bowl games. Hopefully that QB problem will fix itself.

5. South Carolina- This one might not last either since they are playing a hot Florida team on Saturday.

6. Ole Miss- Who is this team and when could they play football??

7. Kentucky- They Georgia a run for their money.

8. Vandy- It's okay Vandy, everyone is getting killed by Florida.

9. Arkansas- That running back is keeping them alive.

10. Auburn- Can it get any worse?

11. Mississippi State- They are being seen as a upset against Alabama.

12. Tennessee- They aren't even bowl eligible.

An E-mail I received and really enjoyed

A good friend of mine send this to me. I could find a link so I will just post the whole thing

Written by Wright Thompson of ESPN the Magazine.

In another life, I was the LSU beat writer for the New Orleans Times Picayune. Sports writers will tell you that covering a beat is the biggest grind in the business, an endless cycle of being stonewalled by coaches and making 32 phone calls just to find out if some 18-year-old sprained his ankle. But there was a moment that made it all worth it: walking into Tiger Stadium. It was electric. When Death Valley is rocking, it seems as if it might actually take flight.

On Saturday, I went back to Baton Rouge to see Alabama barely beat LSU, and was, once again, reminded that Tiger Stadium is the best place in the world to watch a sporting event. Since we love lists, here are 10 reasons why:

10. The Tiger Bait Walk
Hundreds of fans line barricades, waiting on the Alabama busses. Immediately visible are five state troopers, eight sheriff's deputies and a crowd of prison guards. Two more cops are undercover, dressed as LSU fans. There are about 40 nine-millimeters around gate 12. One marshal has an earpiece, and he gets the word: Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide have left the hotel, with two Alabama troopers and three Louisiana troopers leading them in, lights shining and sirens blaring. A police helicopter circles above. Last night, LSU fans burned Saban in effigy at a pep rally. Nobody with a badge is taking any chances.

Finally, the busses pull up and cops rush Saban into the bowels of Tiger Stadium. LSU fans yell, "Tiger Bait." Alabama fans yell, "Roll Tide."

I'm not sure what it was like to walk into the Coliseum, but I bet it was something like this.

9. Ragoo
I wrote about him in the latest issue of The Magazine. He's Cajun, bald, usually dressed in purple and gold and is the preeminent LSU tailgater. Once upon a time, he ran the Krewe of Ragoo, a group of Tiger fans wilder than the occupants of a hair band tour bus. Almost 60, he's decided to chill, disbanding the Krewe and forming a smaller group known as Ragoo Remains.

And they get after it.

Saturday, they had brisket and all the beer you could handle. If you're ever at an LSU game, stop by Ragoo's tent, over by the track. Tell him you read about him in The Mag and that you'd sure love a little piece of boudin.

8. The Pre-Game Ritual
The band marches onto the field, dressed like mariachis but keeping time like soldiers. They begin playing "Pregame (Hold that Tiger)," turning to salute each corner of Tiger Stadium. Each corner tries to be louder than the one before.

Then Dan Borne' comes on and goes through the temperature and weather. "Chance of rain?" he asks the crowd. "Never!" they respond in unison.

(This is where John Ed Bradley got the name for his wonderful book, It Never Rains in Tiger Stadium. It's one of the most amazing pieces of writing I've ever read.)

7. The Speakers
Some schools have wimpy speakers, not loud enough to allow the pump-you-up songs serve their purpose. But in Tiger Stadium, it's like they hijacked the Rolling Stones sound system. There's enough treble to hear the words, enough bass to rattle Death Valley's metaphorical rear view mirror. When they play AC/DC's "Hell's Bells," usually during a media time out before a big play, they let it go long enough for the guitar to kick in. I am pretty damn sure they can hear it out on the barges pushing cargo down the Mississippi River.

6. The Press Box Coffee
As Mag writer Seth Wickersham, pointed out in this awesome story about the Manning brothers, people in Louisiana are serious about their coffee. At Tiger stadium, they serve Community Coffee, a local staple. By the end of the game on Saturday, the press box was littered with small, red Styrofoam cups. Four of them were mine.

5. Nighttime
The third quarter ends with LSU down seven, but hanging in. Borne' makes an announcement.

"The sun has found its home in the western sky, and it is now Saturday night in Death Valley," he says.

The crowd goes ape s—. The band plays the first few notes of "Hold that Tiger," but the crowd quickly overpowers their sound. Fifteen minutes to go, and the place is about to lift off.

4. "Living on a Prayer"
The game is tied with just under three minutes left, and LSU is about to get the ball with a chance to win. The band knows just the song.

Tommy used to work on the docks.

The student section explodes.

When the band gets to the chorus, they are singing along—and it is loud. They are part of the largest crowd ever at this place, and their Tigers are hanging in against the top ranked team in the country, maybe about to send Nicky-Nicky Bling-Bling home a loser.

We gotta hold on
To what we got
It doesn't make a difference
If we make it or not
We got each other
And that's a lot
For love
We'll give it a shot

Ooooooh, we're halfway there
Ooooooh, living on a prayer …

It is one of my favorite moments in sports.

Getty Images
Saban now treads in dangerous territory when he makes the trip with Bama to Tiger Stadium.
3. The Noise
I know this is a bit redundant, but it is really hard to explain just how loud Tiger Stadium is when you're standing on the field. Georgia coach Mark Richt told reporters a story not long ago about the reaction of the crowd after the Bulldogs scored a touchdown to tie a game several years back. Normally, something like this quiets a crowd. Not this time. The TD just seemed to make the 93,000 more angry.

"All I began to hear was a chant: L-S-U. L-S-U," Richt said. "It got louder and louder and louder, and it was the loudest I'd ever heard a stadium."

On Saturday, when LSU blocks what would have been an Alabama game-winning field goal, the place is as loud as I've ever heard it. The crowd is moving and swaying so much, and in so many directions, it makes the stands look blurry, like a pointillist painting.

2. The Belly of the Beast
Down below the stadium, it feels old. The walls are painted white, and the unpainted concrete is battleship gray. The ceilings are low.

After the game, with a phalanx of state troopers leading the way, Saban makes the short walk from the visitor's locker room to the press conference room. Only problem, he has to pass through a throng of exiting LSU fans, who have talked among themselves for two years about what they'd say to him if they had the chance. They've plotted, schemed and dreamed. Well, let me tell you, the hundred or so who were there when Saban crossed in front of them totally chickened out. There was a little rumbling, but nobody said anything. Until he was inside, that is, then one guy starts screaming at the door, "Garbage! You're garbage!" A nearby state trooper laughs. Dude sure got some courage once Saban was gone.

1. The Silence
Right now, I'm looking out of the press box at the stadium and it's quiet. The lights are off on one side. The aisles are covered in trash. Up here, people are finishing up game stories and columns, ready to crack one of the beers that's been icing down.

I've always loved empty stadiums, none more than this one. It feels alive when it's packed, and now it looks like it's resting, waiting for next week. This building has seen a lot of things. Billy Cannon's punt return; a crowd so loud it registered on the Richter Scale up the street at the geology department; the night when Nick Saban returned to town with his top ranked Crimson Tide. It's as if all that history leaves Tiger Stadium tired and so it needs to recharge until it's time to wake and do it again.

Yes... This is the oppisite of what I have been saying.

but it is sort of true. The link today is for a article by the Bleacher Report about how LSU Fans are using Lee to blame all the problems on. Which I do IN SOME CASES; however, the defense has been a huge problem that has been overlooked. The defense is just terrible. They have the talent but have yet to show it. Look at the dude's stats to see what I am talking about.

Hey Yall!!! I am DONE defending Jarret Lee!!

I have been the biggest Jarrett Lee supporter since day 1. When Matt Flynn graduated, I was Jarrett Lee all the way! But now, I want to hurt the guy. He is making me look like a big idiot (which I definitely am not). He has thrown more interceptions for touchdowns than anyone as a redshirt freshmen. I have no words for him. I am so ashamed to admit that I was one of his biggest fans! He has thrown 14 interceptions, 6 for touchdowns. I mean Matthew Staford threw 13 interceptions his first year, but none of them were a pick 6. Jarrett Lee is turning out to be one of the worst quarterbacks ever. I am so mad about this entire situation.

I heard from an insider that Jordan Jefferson wants to transfer. They keep telling him he will get to play and then they don't and Jarrett Lee is making stupid mistakes. Jordan says that if he does not get to start playing soon, he is gone.Oh please help us God! If that happens, what will we do next year. Yes we are getting Shepard, but we need more than 1 quarterback. Andrew Hatch broke his leg, who knows how long it will be before he is back.

All I have to say is that we need something good to happen, and happen soon. If it doesn't Lsu football will be going down hill.

WELCOME OUR NEW CO-AUTHOR- GOLDEN GIRL!!

A very good friend of mine is joining the blog. She will post things along with me. Don't worry guys she's is almost as cool as me. She will post a weekly rant on player's performances in the past week. This will be on Mondays. My posts are SEC Rankings on Tuesday, Pick 6 on Fridays, and Game wrap with awards on Saturday.

When she posts it will show up as 30500. It is a tech problem that I am working on.

SO YAY Golden Girl!!

A bunch of good "Start Jefferson Articles"

Nola.com has a good article with some info I didn't know. Colt McCoy, yes the amazingness at Texas passed up LSU because Ryan Perrilloux commited to the Tigers. Okay, now I really hate him. But, hey I learn something new everyday.

http://blog.nola.com/lsusports/2008/11/les_miles_has_to_fix_lsu_quart.html

The next two are article in the Advocate. The first is Miles and Lee's statements about the Bama game including that Jefferson will see some playing time. (YAYAYAYAY!!!)

http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/featured/34188899.html

This one though was as good as a warm chocolate cookie that is still gooie right out of the oven. Okay.... maybe not that good, but it did make me hungry. Anyway, back tot he article it is good, saying that it is nothing against Lee personally, but Miles needs to weigh his options. Randy Rosetta write the article. Doesn't his name remind you of Christmas?

http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/34188859.html

LSU drops to #20 in BCS, #19 in AP

If the computers would watch that game they would know that Alabama isn't the best team in the country. Also they would have seen that LSU gave that game to Alabama and they shouldn't have won that game.

I'm sick of this

I am tired of the running backs and the defense playing well and being overshadowed by Jarrett Lee's constant mistakes. How much more blood do you want Les? There has to be a point when you see the kid can't take the pressure. But here is what pisses me off the most. Les Miles told Jordan Jefferson he was going in, let him warm-up, then tell him they are going to put Lee back in. I know for a fact is that Jefferson is looking into a transfer. Miles needs to start him versus Troy. If he doesn't and mark my words, I will boycott LSU football. Because what he did tonight is lie then he could be put on the same category as Nick Saban, liars. The defense played this best I have seen since Jan. 4, 2004. My freshman, Patrick Peterson, had an amazing game.

Brownie Points: Ryan Baker- Talking about looking to the future, I want to see this guy play actual defense.

Game Ball: Tiger Defense- Like I said this was a great game for the defense.

Dog House: Les Miles- The thing about Jordan Jefferson really bugs me.

Hatch is out for Alabama Game

Back-up quarterback Andrew Hatch is out for the Alabama game and possibly the rest of the season. Thanks to my sources, I was told he broke his fibula (I think that is the right bone but hey, I am not a doctor). Jordan Jefferson will be backing up Lee this weekend and Miles says he looks great in practice. The link for the article is from Tiger Rag. Click the Title for the link.

And Another Satan article

FUN STUFF!!

If you are wondering, I have only seen 3 out 12 predictions going LSU's way. But what do they know?

An another Awesome Anti-Saban article

This one is by a ESPN Magazine writer, Wright Thompson. It is worth reading.

An interesting point of view of Miles vs. Satan

In Stewart Mendel's mailbag he answers a question about LSU's fans hatred towards Nick Satan. I think he answers it well. After you read it though dont kill me for that last statement.

Did I mispell that Bama coach's name again??? Silly me. I could never spell.

LSU to Get New Scoreboards for 8 Athletic Facilities

AD Joe Alleva announced that the university will update 8 of the scoreboards in Tiger Stadium, PMAC, the new Alex Box Stadium, new Tiger Park, Bernie Moore Track Stadium, LSU Natatorium, Dub Robinson Tennis Stadium and LSU Soccer Complex. There are pictures at http://www.businessreport.com/archives/daily-report/2008/nov/05/678/. I will post the one for Tiger Stadium.

SEC Power Rankings

I know I keep forgetting these, but it takes alot of time.

1. Florida- No one is playing better football than the Gators, it is that simple.

2. Alabama- I still believe that this is the most overrated team in nation and yes I know USC exist too. We will see if I am right this weekend.

3. Georgia- The only reason that the Bulldogs are ahead of LSU is because they embarrassed LSU in Baton Rouge. The beating from Florida must hurt though.

4. LSU- Usually by this time questions are answered for a team. The Tigers just have more. Prayers are going out for practice this week.

5. South Carolina- This defense is good. The win over Tennessee looked really good.

6. Ole Miss- This is a surprise. Ole Miss is third in the west. They beat Auburn, bu then again who hasn't?

7. Vandy- I was really pulling for them. They have a good football team too. Their biggest test is this weekend at home against Florida.

8. Arkansas- Beating Tulsa is a bigger deal than everyone is making it. The leading rusher in the SEC is their running back. Surprised???

9. Kentucky- Talent is the only thing keeping this team alive.

10. Auburn- How much of a disappointment is this team? Lost to Ole Miss, Vandy, and Arkansas. Tubby needs a paper bag to walk around campus.

11. Mississippi State- What happened to the Croom that was Coach of the Year last year? Or is it what happened to this team?

12. Tennessee- Just when you thought things couldn't be worse, Fulmer was asked to step down. That is was the only consistently positive.

LSU will Play #1 on Saturday

For the seventh time in Tiger Stadium History, LSU will welcome (not nicely) the #1 ranked Crimson Tide. And something that I didn't know until 5 minutes ago, GameDay will be in Baton Rouge!! YAYAYAYAY!!! I haven't decided if I am going. I like my sleep, but I will ponder the idea.

Sunday, November 2, 2008

LSU 35 Tulane 10

This was an ugly win in my opinion. The defense was terrible, offense was one sided against a below sub-par opponent. I was extremely disappointed in the coaching. Why burn the redshirt on Jordan Jefferson to hand the ball off 8 times in the last 5 minutes? Why won't you put him in the 3rd quarter when the game means something? LET HIM THROW THE BALL. And you could have let Lee chill and not make any mistakes to kill his confidence like I don't know throwing a pic 6 and getting booed by the fans. This wasn't the Halloween booing either. I also noticed that the corners are playing defense on the wide receivers by covering the short pass and then giving them room to throw the ball. It should be the opposite right?? BTW: Where is Trindon Holliday in the offense

Game Ball- Steven Ridley: Talk about looking to the future. This kid is awesome. Why don't we throw him in there.

Brownie Points- Perry Riley: I can't seem to find the stats on this guy but he did amazing in this game. I think it was 5 tackles with one for a loss

Dog House- Lee: He wasn't that bad but it didn't help his cause throwing another pick 6 and overthrowing wide open receivers.

NEW BY REQUEST!!! Weekend Pic 6

YAY!! New thing here. I will now pick all the SEC games and then a "extra point" or a non-SEC game of the week. I don't pick the score just the winner. This reminds me I forgot to do the power rankings this week, I might see if I can do them tomorrow if not next week will be good.

Auburn at Ole Miss- Ole Miss: yes Ole Miss will beat somebody. This Ole Miss team is getting better and this Auburn team's spread offense is as useful as a swimsuit in Alaska.

Tulsa at Arkansas- Tulsa: Tulsa is better than everyone thinks. They could even be a BCS Buster.

Kentucky at Mississippi State- Kentucky: This one was hard for me so yeah...

Georgia vs. Florida- Florida: Yes, Georgia has Moreno, but I think Florida has two many weapons on offense for a soft Georgia defense.

Tennessee at South Carolina- South Carolina: Tennessee is another one of these teams searching for themselves and South Carolina is good enough to beat 'em

LSU vs. Tulane- Do you even have to ask??

EXTRA POINT!! Texas vs. Teaxas Tech- Texas: This game will be determine by which team has a defense show up that is good enough to hold one of the explosive offenses

There is my first Weekend Pic 6. What do you think??

Wide Receivers defend Lee

The Wide Receivers are defending Jarrett Lee after he has gone under alot of critiques since he worse performance of the year in the Georgia game. The Wide Receivers are saying that it could be their fault as well. I still want to see Jordan Jefferson play, which Miles confirmed would happen this weekend. I think it is awesome the team is staying behind him during this hard time to be a Tiger

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Hatch Injured

Andrew Hatch injured his leg during the Georgia game. Les Miles confirmed this today after saying that true freshman Jordan Jefferson could see some playing time. After Lee's three interceptions in this past Saturday's game, Miles is taking some heat about his QB choices. My guess is that we will see Lee the rest of the year with Jefferson and Hatch thrown in there pretty often.

LSU- Alabama to Kick-off at 2:30pm

CBS wants to televise the game in prime air time. Honestly, I pissed about this all of LSU's big games have been during the day. There has been no "Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium" and I am pretty pissed that ESPN didn't pick it up for GameDay what is the more interesting game on that day. Who else plays? If you know please comment so maybe this will make sense.

Mike falls flat in Capital One Mascot

Mike has fallen in the past few weeks.

Last week he fell to #7 while this week he is in 11th place.
C'mon guys let's keep him in there.
VOTE!!!!

Poll update/ Tiger Rag Report Card

Tigers slipped to #15 in both polls, #19 in the BCS.

Tiger Rag Report Card: I think they were a little generous, but it is definitly worth reading. The running back corp should be the most pissed off people in the world. They ripped up on the best rushing defense in the SEC.

Saturday, October 25, 2008

Georgia 52 LSU 34

This game was ugly, very ugly. This is a rebuilding year, I have said that. But no one likes to lose. This was just bad. Here are your stats for the game.

14- points LSU lost by
17- UGA points off of turnovers
11- UGA plays over 20 yards
4 - UGA plays over 40 yards
93- yards UGA LINEBACKER Darryl Gamble had
53- More total yards LSU have OVER UGA
3 - Facemasks on UGA not called

Game Ball- Charles Scott had 144 yards rushing against the best run defense in the SEC.

Brownie Points- Colt David broke the record for most points scored by an LSU player. He passed Kevin Faulk

NEW: Dog House- so many could go here, but the award has to go to Jarret Lee. You can't throw 3 interceptions in this big of a game. I am praying he doesn't start next week. Maybe that could help him calm down and learn something.

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

Yeah the title is weird but hey, I need to entertain myself some time (No gutter people). Chris Low broke down what LSU needs to make it to the BCS Title Game. It would definely mean running the table.

SEC Ranking Week 8

Yes, I skipped last week for two reasons. 1. I was recovering from the kidnapping of the LSU football team and the replacements horrible performance, 2. This takes alot of time. I hope y'all like it ... alot.

1. Florida- They looked amazing against LSU last week as much as I hate to say it. The offense final got it together. I can't wait for that Georgia game though.

2. Georgia- They shouldn't get comfortable here. The game against LSU will be a bigger game than everyone thinks.

3. LSU- It was nice to see the defense break out of their shell. The offense is shaking though, hopeful they will break out against Georgia.

4. Alabama- I am saying it... I told you so. Two straight wins by a total of 7 points against unranked teams. If Ole Miss could make that throw in the 4th quarter, that would have been an big L on their schedule. And losing Cody for a little while puts a huge hole in that defensive line

5. Vandy- I have said this before, I like this team. They are young but good. The loss to Georgia hurts, but remember this date November 8th. They play Florida. A win there could be some crazy stuff.

6. South Carolina- The new quarterback looked great even though he was sacked 6 times. He will grow after the wounds heal.

7. Auburn- They just keep getting worse. Nuf said.

8. Ole Miss- Yeah... I know, but they upset Florida and almost beat Alabama. I loved the fake field goal.

I am out of time so I will just list the rest

9. Kentucky
10. Mississippi State
11. Arkansas
12. Tennessee

Jackson Named Defensive Lineman of the Week

Tyson Jackson received the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week award for his performance at South Carolina. He had two sacks and three tackles while the defensive as a whole only gave up 42 yards in total defense in the second half.

Georgia steals a LSU commit

Georgia is coming to Death Valley this weekend and now the only time Rantavious Wooten is coming to play in Tiger Stadium will be the next time we play Georgia. Wooten is a star receiver that committed to LSU this summer changed his commitment to Georgia over the weekend. That jerk.

SEC ranking for this week should be up by the end of the day.

Monday, October 20, 2008

LSU-Georgia to kick-off at 2:30

Saturday's game will be on CBS at 2:30pm. I don't love afternoon games, but at least it won't be too hot. I can't believe Gameday isn't coming. I guess they are visiting Texas for the third straight time.

Sunday, October 19, 2008

LSU 24 South Carolina 17

This wasn't my favorite game, but it wasn't bad. I am not sold on Jarret Lee yet. He still has alot to learn as a quarterback. I am really liking the two quarterback system. It helps keep new energy on the offense and give Lee a chance to settle down. I also liked when Scott lined up as fullback with Williams as the running back. Murphy in the mix helped with the change of pace. The defense looked great in the 2nd half. The blitzes were well played. The defense looked okay in the first half, but gave up to many big plays. Here is a defensive stat for you. South Carolina's defense, which was 1st in the SEC, had 0 sacks while LSU had 6. BTW: The officials were horrible. Tyson Jackson and Kristan Pittman were being held every play. Darry Beckwith was called for a questionable horsecollar, when Richard Dickson was obviously brought down in the endzone by a huge horsecollar that wasn't called. Another huge facemask on Richard Murphy in 3rd quarter that turned his head around. Probably the biggest blown call was that touchdown in the last seconds of the first half. The Tigers get a huge defensive stop at the goal line and it gets blown by the officials. The Gamecocks runner's helmet crossed the line when he knee was down, but it was after that when he rolled over and reached the ball across the goal line. What pissed me off more is that there was clear visual evidence he didn't cross and it wasn't overturned in the challenge.

Game Ball: Defensive Line

Offensive Play: Terrence Tolliver air borne catch. If Lee would step into his throws it would be an easier catch. Just be glad that boy is tall. If he was shorter that could have been bad.

Defensive Play: So many here. The defenive line overpowered this Gamecock O-line which makes me exicted to see them matched with the freshman on the Georgia Offensive line.

Brownie Points: Keiland Williams. He played extremely well in the 4th quarter and looked like a serious playmaker. I see Georgia having a headache over OUR back field.

To go ahead and get this out of the way.
LSU has moved up to #11 in the latest polls. The BCS came out and LSU is at #13 in that crucial poll.

Saturday, October 18, 2008

Ummmm....

Sorry I haven't posted since Wednesday. Everything I have been finding is how the Tigers will lose their game today. I don't understand why everyone thinks since they lost to Flordia that this team will crawl in to a hole and die. That may be Auburn's game but not this team's. LSU is better than everyone thinks. Look for that to come out soon. Til next time, Geaux Tigers!

Mid-season Report

Mike remain in first place

Despite losing his individual battle with someone unimportant, Mike remained in the 1st place spot for the Capital One Bowl Mascot Challenge. This week he is against Cocky so keep those votes up.

THE BAND WON!!!

The only good thing to come out of this weekend is that The Tiger Marching Band won the Indiana Jones Competition on Saturday. Thanks to y'all for all the votes. The band won $25,000 that they will use for the new band hall!!

Tiger Rag's Report Card

The grades are in for LSU Tigers and the fail and have to stay in 3rd grade another week. These are worth reading. BTW: In aftermath of the past week, I will be a little distant. I think it is better than talking about it.

Florida- Too Much LSU- Too Little

I have never seen LSU play this bad. I could sit here and say everything that is wrong, but that would take too long. I will ask some questions and if you can answer them let me know.

1. How does the highest paid (by season) coach not prepare his team for a high profile game with a bye week before?

2. What the hell Jarrett Lee? It is called stepping with your front foot. Try it, it is easier.

3. Where was Charles Scott?

4. Hey Florida O-Line, Hold much? But don't worry it wasn't called once all game.

5. Peveto and Mallory, will you please move Danny McCray to linebacker now?

6. Can I start a campaign for Jordan Jefferson for starting QB??

7. LSU's O-line, it is called blocking, try it more often that this chasing stuff?

8. Where is the blitzes that were supposed to be improving??

A Really Good Heisman- Scott Article

The Advocate had an article about Charles Scott chances at a Heisman. He has entered the talk after some extremely impressive preformances. The article has quotes from Heisman Voters, past Heisman Winners, former coaches, and others. It is really well put together. Major brownie points to Advocate sportswriters George Morris and Sheldon Mickles for the awesome article.

The links will now be embedded in the title of each post so click the title and it should bring you to the story.

Jean- Francois's Comment on Tim Tebow

A few people have asked me about Ricky Jean- Francois's comment on Tim Tebow. ESPN (that should a hint right there) reported that the junior defensive lineman said if the LSU defense gets a shot at Tebow that they would take him out of the game. The report came out of Orlando, FL, which raised my eyebrow. Here is his actually quote,

“If we get a good shot on (Tebow), we’re going to try our best to take him out of the game. With his size and his heart, it’s hard to get a clean shot.”

ESPN and others took it as injury the Heisman Winner then later yesterday Jean-Francois released this statement.

“We never go into any football game trying to hurt a player from the other team,”

“My comments in regard to Florida quarterback Tim Tebow were misinterpreted and were intended to reflect the style of football that we play at LSU. We have great respect for Tim as player and a competitor. By taking him out of the game, I meant as a defense we are going to try to make him ineffective. I’m sorry that my initial comments were interpreted another way.”

Hope that cleared some things up.

SEC Power Rankins Week 6

YAY!! Bye week. I don't know about y'all but I needed it. Here goes your power rankings for this week

1. LSU- They still haven't messed up. Hopefully that statement won't change at Florida. (Knock on wood)

2. Vandy- People are saying there win over Auburn it just proof that Auburn is over-rated. I sort of agree. The Auburn thing I will get to later, but this was a really important win for Vandy. The fans were so into the game and the country learned that when the starting QB comes back he may have some competition. The back-up Mackenzi Adams replaced him and went wild. Where did they get this kid?

3. Georgia- I still have faith in this team, little faith that will be crushed when the enter Baton Rouge. They needed this past bye week and Tennessee will be a good rebuilding game.

4. Alabama- Yeah, I so called this. I still don't believe in this team what so ever. Kentucky isn't a powerhouse team and the Tide barely beat them. They are off this week but after Satan gets through with them and their mistakes, they may not have a fully functionally team. The win was that bad

5. Florida- That first quarter wasn't pretty. That little running back from Arkansas stunned that gator defense. HAHAHA! Wait 'til you meet Charles Scott. BTW: Tebow still looked horrible.

6. Auburn- They really don't belong in the top 25. The only reason they are here is because they have played 4 straight SEC games with the losses by a combined 6 points. This offensive needs some help too.

7. Kentucky- They played a nice come-back game this weekend. Let's see if they can keep it up against South Carolina

8. South Carolina- Turnovers won the game for the Gamecocks. Now it that bad Ole Miss offense or good Gamecock defense.

9. Mississippi State- Despite their 2 SEC losses, this is still a talented and good football team. Look for them to pick up their intensity towards the end of the season.

10. Ole Miss- This team is proof that turnovers can really break a game. They learned that Saturday and the Saints learned that yesterday.

11. Arkansas- The Razorbacks may have found a playmaker, Michael Smith. Yes they had their butts handed to them but they found a running back with semi-star quality. i could be speaking too soon though.

12. Tennessee- They have official hit rock bottom. They beat Northern Illinois by 4 points. The only good thing out of this one is a new starting quarterback. I am smelling some fire and it is coming from the Tennessee fans.

Idle Tigers fall in both polls

Though LSU was on a bye week, they still fell one spot in both the AP poll and Coaches' Poll. Mizzou manged to jump them after embarrassing Nebraska. Vandy also moved up after beating Auburn to #13 while Auburn fell to #20 and is the only 2-loss team in the Top 25.

A Petiton to Free Mike the Tiger to Attack Saban

This has to be the best thing I have seen all week. This guy says that there is a actual petition to not feed Mike the Tiger (the one in the cage not the fluffy one with the jersey) for the week of the Alabama then let him lose in the Alabama locker room. Then he talks about the rest of the SEC in a humorous way and the domination of LSU fans in the south. I LOVE THIS!!!

Beckwith Hopes to be Back for Florida

Senior Linebacker Darry Beckwith hopes to be back for the Florida game next Saturday. He was helped off the field in the North Texas game and since then he has been doing rehab. But we all should know he wants to be on the field. Good article here.

Stewart Rankings

LSU went down, yes I said down in Stewart Mandel's power rankings. LSU is now #5. Alabama is at 2, Oklahoma at 1. Mizzou and Texas round ou the top 5.

MIKE IS IN 4th PLACE!!!

YAY!!! Mike is now in 4th place. The rankings came out yesterday. He is trialing North Dakota (who I really don't get), Boise State, and Air Force. He is matched against Buster from Boise State this week so we really need to vote so he can beat him. In the rankings Mike is trial first place by 2,707 votes so everyone vote, tell your friends, parents, siblings, classmates, teachers, and garbage man.
http://www.capitalonebowl.com/vote/main

NEW!! MY OWN SEC RANKINGS!!!

By request of my brother and his friends who may be the only people who read this, I will now post SEC Rankings each Tuesday. Here we go!!
1. LSU- Now you can say I am biased, but I truly believe as of this week LSU is the best team in the SEC. See below why.

2. Georgia- Before you guys kill me, hear me out. Yes, this team was beat by Alabama, but the media is over shadowing the fact that this team came out in the second half and scored 31 points while they held Alabama to 7 IN THE SECOND HALF. This team though is bruised especially since I heard that praised tailback could be out for 2 weeks due to an elbow injury.

3. Vandy- That QB ain't bad for a smart guy. ESPN GameDay is going to campus this weekend. The team is very well balanced which could really help them in the SEC. They are undefeated, but that could change this weekend when they play Auburn.

4. Alabama- Yes, I completely went against the AP poll because of this. This is a very young team and most don't have the true SEC experience. This team did beat Georgia and they barely beat Tulane. The team has never trialed in a game, but also let Georgia score 31 points in 30 minutes. Nick Satan has never been a second half coach. When they come to Baton Rouge, that could bite them in the butt.

5. Auburn- This team held Tennessee like what 6 times in the 4th quarter to 3 and outs. That spread offense looks as good as Tubby in a dress, and the QB musical chairs is really getting old.

6. Florida- That lost was as ugly as it gets. Most of that I put on Urban Meyer. I respect that fact he tried to be like Les Miles and go for the 4th and 1 instead of the field goal, but Tebow up the middle? Really? LSU could pull it off because we had Jacob Hester and have Charles Scott now. Also the Gators have no real hard run game (hand off to Harvin doesn't count). And it just me or has Tebow lost his magic?
Go cry about it Tebow.

7. Kentucky- Ummm... this team is unbeaten but they have not played anyone. There was almost a Bluegrass Miracle Part 2 against umm Middle Tennessee State??? I am scared for this team.

8. Ole Miss- The only reason they get there is because they beat Florida. Otherwise a Congrats to Houston Nutt for learning how to coach a team without a Heisman Running Back. I bet he is thrilled.

9. Mississippi State- They put up an nice effort at LSU. That new QB didn't look too bad either. Is it just me or did they have some speed??

10. South Carolina- The O'Ball Coach is looking for a retirement plan, not really but seriously. This team doesn't have any big playmakers which kills the team's enthusiasm. and honestly I know nothing good to say about them.

11.Tennessee- Philly is another who needs to retire with his pride while it is still there. I watched that Auburn game, and that was pathetic. 4 times in the 4th quarter the offense went 3 and out. They didn't even need to get in the red zone just in field goal range and they couldn't even go 10 yards. The only good thing about this team is Fulmer is putting the QB job up for grabs.

12. Arkansas- Since McFadden and Jones left, this team is nothing. I am pretty sure that some high school team could beat them. Yeah, it is that bad.

That's all folks. Leave your comments for me!!! I need to know if these rankings will be worth my time.

Scott #3 in the Heisman Rankings

In Gene Menez's Heisman Rankings Charles Scott rose from #7 to #3. Menez writes for SI.com and is giving Scott some major recognition. Chase Daniel still clings to top spot regardless of the bye week for Mizzou with Sam Bradford behind him. Tim Tebow and Knowshon Moreno fell out of the rankings completely.

CBS Picks up LSU at Florida/ Lee Freshman of the Week

CBS announced that it will televise the LSU at Florida Game. The game will kick-off at 7pm in primetime. I am really surprised that it wasn't picked up by ESPN for Game Day.

LSU star commit Russel Shepard attend this weekend's game. He talked to Tiger Rag about the team and the atmosphere of Tiger Stadium. I found it interesting.

LSU moves to #2 in Coach's poll, #3 in AP

After 3 of the top 5 teams lost this weekend, LSU moved up in the polls. LSU is #2 in the coach's poll with Oklahoma the only team ahead of them. Mizzou and Alabama were next. In the AP Alabama jumped to number 2 which in my opinion is stupid. Jumping an idle team and another team who still won is just crazy. Alabama is media team like USC and as soon as something good happens the media is the first to praise them. What about Alabama barley hanging on and beating Tulane in week 2?? They quickly forgot that.

LSU 34 Mississippi State 24

I am not going to lie this was the win I was expecting from the Tigers. Yes, it is a win, but the defense helped make the Bulldogs running back look good, I mean pretty good. While we are on defense, what was up with the secondary. They yet again gave p some major big yardage plays. Also a major weakness was uncovered; the linebackers cannot cover the tailback. Hopefully in two weeks against Harvin, Chad Jones will become his best friend in nickel and dime packages. I was hoping for a little more blizing on the QB though. I guess (or hope) they are saving those plays for Florida. The offense though looked pretty soild. "Chuck the Truck" become the first player since Alexander to have 4 straight 100 yard games. If he can do that at Florida, I will start screaming Heisman. Major brownie points to that offensive line for those holes too. Jarrett Lee had some nice throws when he would step into the ball otherwise they were sub-par, John Parker Wilson throws. That is just another thing he needs to learn along with throwing to more than just LaFell. I still need to see those kick-offs to get to at least the 5 yards line. The defeners need time to get down there and kicking it at the 18 yard line just makes it harder.

Game Ball: Charles Scott- no explaination needed

Defensive Play: Pass this week. Nothing really stood out for me. Let me know if you disagree.

Offensive Play: Pass to Holliday. Good to see he actually can play the position he is listed as

Brownie Points: O-line- they parted the State D-line like Moses at the Red Sea

The Band is Dominating; Mike Climbing Up

In the Indiana Jones Contest LSU's Golden Band is killing everyone else. LSU has 63% of the votes with the second place Clemson Band having 13%. I am extremely impressed at the voting people. Keep it UP!!!
http://promo.espn.go.com/espn/contests/indianajones/voteTeam

Mike the Tiger is in 9th and the new rankings will come out next Monday. I added the Widget from the Capital One Bowl site to the blog. It should show up to the right. Someone asked me the other day how he got his 1-1 record. He lost to the Buffalo from North Dakota State and then beat Smoky from Tennessee. This week is up against BYU's Cosmo. Vote for Mike!!!!!

Special Teams Solution??

Last Saturday I am not sure if you noticed that some numbers were changed. Both of LSU's punters were wearing #30. Les Miles wanted to confuse Auburn's punt returner and no one is really sure if it worked. In the process though LSU might have found a new punter. Brady Dalfrey punted during the night and averaged 48 yards a punt with 4 of them landing inside the 20. Here is the article from 2theadvocate.com
http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/featured/29728744.html?showAll=y&c=y

LSU has Players on Most Exciting List

On the ESPN SEC blog yet again is some stuff on LSU. Chris Low, which if haven't figured it out writes the blog, made a list of the most exciting player in the SEC. His list had Trindon Holliday and Brandon LaFell. There was also a fan made list that has Charles Scott, Trindon Holliday, and Demetrius Byrd.
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/sec/0-1-472/Cody--Scott-show-up-on-your-most-exciting-list.html

I should just make a whole other blog for this guy

Charles Scott was again recognized. This time it was by Chris Low on the ESPN SEC Blog. You know the drill.
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/sec/0-1-462/Scott-off-and-running-in-LSU-s-deep-backfield.html

LSU moves to #2 in SEC Rankings

On the ESPN SEC blog, LSU moved up 2 spots to #2. Georgia is the only one ahead of them with Florida right below them.
Did anyone else notice how many initals are in that sentence??
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/ncfnation/0-2-486/Georgia-remains-on-top-of-SEC-rankings.html

Rome on LSU

The writer Jim Rome has a recent article about LSU that I loved. He talks about the win last Saturday and the spirit of the team. I really enjoyed this. BIG thanks to my brother RYAN for finding this and emailing it to me!!!

100th POST!!/ Stewart Mandel Rankings

First this is my 100th post on the LSU Football Blog! Yay!! Let's throw a party!!

Now for the news, my favorite writer, Stewart Mandel, has his power rankings out. LSU is at #4 with Georgia above them at #3 and Florida below them at #5. Alabama is at #10 and Auburn in the #11 spot. Vandy cracks in at #25.

Scott and a Heisman??

Tiger Rag put a really good article on their website. The article explores running back Charles Scott in the Heisman race. They talked to Les Miles and Sports Information Director, Michael Bonnette. I know it wasn't in the actual paper because I got it yesterday in the mail.

Tiger Band in Competition too

I received an email about the Golden Band being in the Indiana Jones Competiton. All the bands played the Indiana Jones Theme Song at a game and was recorded for the competition. They are up against Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Florida, USC, and Texas. The winner gets a cool crystal trophy and $25,000 for the band. The Golden Band is trying to build a new band hall so they could use the money unlike USC who would just use it to pay off players. LSU is currently in the lead but not by much. You can vote once a day.
http://promo.espn.go.com/espn/contests/indianajones/voteTeam

The Band is in first! Mike is now in 9th!!! Keep it up y'all!!!!

Foxsports- Five Thoughts

Foxsports.com's Five Thought seem to feature LSU and the SEC. With talk about Lee's turnaround and the awesomeness of "The Hat" (he should get that copyrighted) they make LSU look like a true title contender. Let's see how the year goes. If they go through Florida, Georgia, and Alabama with only one loss, then I will start the Les Miles for President campain. We could so take Obama down!!
http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/8594232/Five-Thoughts:-LSU-is-in-good-hands

Charles Scott Jumps into the Heisman Race

On Si.com's Heisman Watch, LSU's Charles Scott jumped to #7 on the Heisman Watch List. Scott is averaging 8 yards per carry this season which is crazy considering the depth at running back. I have been waiting for this. The Auburn run defense averaged 50 or so yards a game until they met Charles Scott who had 132 yards.

C'mon y'all, we can do better. I vote everyday once I turn on my computer. Tell all of you friends. Which maybe only one. Just Kidding. But seriously VOTE!!! Do I need to make a shirt or something??
http://www.capitalonebowl.com

Scott gets SEC recognition

Charles Scott got the SEC Offensive Player of the Week award. Scott averaged over 6 yards a carry on a stout Auburn defense. This game marks the third straight week that the running back had 100+ rushing yards.
http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/29239354.html

Lee as QB = Possible National Championship??

Rivals.com thinks so. They compare LSU's quarterback Jarrett Lee to the National Championship quarterbacks of the past (Matt Mauck, Matt Flynn). It talks about Les Miles reaction to his performance in the game. Lee is a very young quarterback that needs to learn some things and he showed that last Saturday. As for the National Championship thing let's get through the month of October first then we will talk.

LSU has a secret

I won't tell if you don't. Foxsports did their week 4 wrap up with its focus around LSU's exciting win over Auburn. Don Borst says that LSU has that secret magic it did last year. I really liked the article except for the part where he says that USC will be in the title game and it is just week 4.

LSU moves up to #5 in the AP poll

After LSU's win over Auburn, the Bayou Bengals moved up one spot in the AP poll over Missouri. They remain #6 though in the USA/Coach's poll. Auburn dropped to #15 and Alabama moved to #8. Vandy broke the Top 25! (Between you and me, I kinda like them this year). They sit at #21. That puts 6 SEC teams in the Top 25.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/rankingsindex

LSU 26 Auburn 21

LSU passed its first major test of the season. This was a serious learning game.
A.) We learned that Jarrett Lee needed to get settled in the pocket before he could play to his fullest ability.
B.) The LSU run defense is alot better than the nation gave them credit for.
C.) The pass defense though has some holes. Yes, there were 2 interceptions, but also gave up two huge pass plays that either gave Auburn a touchdown or set them up for one.
D.) This one is just for me. Danny McCray really should become a linebacker. His pass protection is just not good enough for the SEC.
E.) LSU now knows that they can build their season around Jarrett Lee. Andrew Hatch did a decent job, but this ain't Harvard. In the SEC when you have a open receiver it is a touchdown. You can not over thrown people by five yards. Yes, Lee is guilty of this too, but not as much as Hatch.

With the start of the SEC season I will give out awards for each game.
Best Offensive Play: Keiland Williams Half-back pass to Demetrius Byrd for TD.
Best Defensive Play: Rahim Alem sack with 51 seconds to go.
Game Ball: Charles Scott. Anyone who averages 7 yards a carry, against Auburn deserves the game ball and an invite to New York (if he keeps this up).
Brownie Points: Jarrett Lee. After losing all faith in him in the first half, he comes out of the locker room a new man, literally. 0 for 5, INT then he goes 11 of 17 for 2 TDs. Dude, I will bake you a cake.

Cory McCartney's Preview

SI.com's Cory McCartney called LSU-Auburn the Game of the Week and made a cool preview. I actually like this one. It lays out things to look for and the pick. BTW: I really think LSU will break the home-field advantage curse. (Knock on wood.)

Alot of previews that I don't agree with but okay

These are a few previews that showed up, but I didn't really like them. Let I promise to post stuff so here it is.

Stewart Madel (who I love) has all the SEC showdowns for the weekend. Don't agree here.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/stewart_mandel/09/17/sec.showdowns/index.html?eref=T1

This is a Foxsports preview which I like. It gives some cool stats and what to look for. Still don't agree with the score though.
http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/8579120/Deeper-look-at-Week-4%27s-key-games

This one kinda of ticked me off because it was very unoriginal. The same the home team wins crap. That changes this season. Watch for it.

Beckwith out, Cutrera in

Senior Linebacker Darry Beckwith is out until LSU plays Florida. (This is what I have heard.) In his place this week is Jacob Cutrera. He is a junior from Lafayette who has started more than once. I have always had my eye on this kid and he is more than capable to fill in. Here is an article by the advocate someone told me about I haven't read it yet. Tell me how it is.
http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/featured/28492094.html

LSU is a cupcake???

LSU was named in the top ten of school with "cupcake" non-conference schedule. LSU wasn't the only SEC school to be on the list. Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Alabama all made it too. So hear is what I have to say about that. Early in the week I posted that 5 SEC teams are in the Top 10 in the AP poll. LSU plays all of them. So if we were to have a non-conference schedule that was like USC or Clemson, we would never make it out of November. When the Pac-10 or other conferences get teams like Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, or Mississippi State to play in their conference let me know then I will give them respect otherwise shut up about LSU's non-conference schedule.
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=frightful/080905

UPDATE:
Foxsports has now put out a similar list, but has LSU as #1 in cupcake scheduling. I am really getting sick of this. BTW: Does anyone remember who we played last year for our home opener? Yeah, I am sure they do. We played Virginia Tech last year and the next two years we play Washington. This year we played the team that beat the Golden unbeatable Michigan. Please people stop before this (or just me) gets ugly.

Holliday Named Special Teams Player of the Week

Trindon Holliday was named by the SEC as the Special Teams Player of the Week. Holliday returned 4 punts for 163 yards which in 6th in SEC history. He is currently the best punter returner averaging 40.6 yards per punt return. Holliday was given this award last year for his kick-off return against Ole Miss and the year before for his kick-off return at Arkansas.

S-E-C! S-E-C!

The SEC became the first conference ever to have 5 teams in the AP poll at the same time. Georgia, Florida, LSU, Auburn, and Alabama are all in the top 10. Beat that USC! Don't you love how LSU still has to play all of them. Now that is strength of schedule.

ESPN's SEC Blog post

This guy Chris Low is alot better than I remember. I kinda abanddon him this summer. He has power rankings for the SEC on a week to week basis. LSU is #3 in this. He says a win at Auburn would give them a fighting chance for the top spot. He also gives out helment stickers like on GameDay wrap-up. His this week went to Trindon Holliday for his awesome special team performance. BTW: I need to make a correction on yesterday's post. His total Special Teams Yards was second in history. I can't find who is first if you can let me know. He also gave some respect to LSU for not being distracted by the Hurricane and taking care of North Texas. I am starting to like this guy.

LSU moves up one spot in the polls

LSU moved to #6 in both major polls this week. Ohio State dropped to #13. USC took top spot followed by Oklahoma and Georgia.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/football/ncaa/09/14/bc.ap.college.poll.ap/index.html

LSU 41 North Texas 3

I should make this short because I have to wake up tomorrow. So a good game for the Tigers, but I had some problems with it. The running game was awesome. I am starting a Charles Scoot for Heisman campaign. It will be huge. The defense on paper was good, but watching it was pretty sloppy. North Texas was killing Chris Hawkins. He was tackling people, but after they caught the ball. I would start focusing more on breaking up passes though. Trindon Holliday gets some serious kudos for his game tonight. I loved the fact that they finally used a offensive player as the punt returner, and when they did the kid had the most punt return yards in one game in the history of LSU football. Not to mention he tied the longest punt return in school history. The kicking game still bugs me. the longest kick-off (which there was a few) hit the 15 yard line. This will be bad for teams like Georgia who have a Heisman candidate for kick off returns. He gets it high gets the coverage down field which I guess could make up for its distance. It still bugs me though.

Tonight also marks the first thing I have wrong in my season predictions, but in Ohio State's and my defense we were both banking on Beanie Wells playing.

The LSU-North Texas game is be televised on TigerVision across the state. In Baton Rouge the game will be free to all Cox Customers. Better late than never...

I'm sorry that I am late posting information today. I have had quite a day.

Now to the football stuff, it will be "Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium" for the LSU-North Texas game Joe Allvea annouced today. This puts to rest questions on the damage to Tiger Stadium. Kick-off will be at 7pm.

Voting for the best mascot started yesterday at www.captialonebowl.com. You can vote once a day so get yours in daily!!!!

Also the only word about Saturday is that the game will be played just no decision on where.

LSU remains at #7

After the Tigers' forced bye week, they remain the same in the polls. LSU received 1 #1 vote in the AP and 2 in the Coaches' poll. Other entertaining movement: Ohio State drops to #5 after struggling with Ohio and East Carolina came into the polls at #14 after beating Virgina Tech last week and beating West Virgina yesterday.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/ncaa/polls/ap/

Also the damage is still be worked on at Tiger Stadium. If the work isn't finished, the LSU-North Texas game could be played at the Superdome or Texas Stadium. I'll keep you posted.

LSU- Troy Game Postponed

Hello Everyone!!! I am back!!! Power came back on yesterday at my house. I am backed up as bad as USC's player payroll. I will try to find all the info I missed in the past week.

LSU- Troy game was pushed back to Nov. 15th due to damage to Tiger Stadium. The windows in the Stadium Club were blown out, hundreds of seats were damaged, they are testing the scoreboard and lights, and debris tore up parts of the field. I was on LSU's campus today and there didn't seem to have too much major damage besides stop lights blown and trees down.
http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?&ATCLID=1574472&DB_OEM_ID=5200

LSU remained at #6 in most major polls while USC jumped Ohio State and Georgia for the #1 spot. (HUH???) There is a power ranking from Foxsports along with Computer based that puts LSU at 4 ahead of USC.
http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/powerRankings?type=whatIfSports

Alot of shifting in the Position Power Rankings. I will let you check on that.
http://collegefootball.rivals.com/viewCFSE.asp?selposition=5

LSU also picked up anohter commit. The 18th verbal was Rantavious Wooten, a wide receiver out of Belle Glade, Florida. He is a four-star that reminds me of mini Percy Harvin.

LSU 41 App. State 13

LSU won their first game of the season very easily. Of course most of Louisiana should know that by know unless you are so tuned in Hurricane updates. I was of course at the game which unearthly hot. I stayed the whole game because that is what I do. I was greatly impressed with quarterback Andrew Hatch. He was calm and comfortable in the pocket. There were no bombs thrown, but he got the job done. The one who looked bad was Jarrett Lee. He seemed scared and uncomfortable. This was just App State. What does he expect for Florida or Georgia? The star though was Charles Scott. He looked AMAZING!!! He hit the line and a few players pretty hard. Not to mention he runs pretty fast too (see first quarter). What really scared me about this year was the punting and kick game. BTW: Colt David has a foot injury. Thanks to the kid that sits next to me for that one. The punting game was bad. There were no far or high punts giving the Mountaineers great field position (props to the defense for keeping them there). The kick-offs were worse which there were a few of them. No kickoffs went passed the 15 yard line. That really won't work in the SEC with people like Auburn and Florida's return specialists. One thing I really liked was the rotation of the cornerbacks. They used four with Chris Hawkins staying in most of the time with Jai Eugne, my freshman Patrick Peterson, and Ron Brooks. They all looked pretty good. Linebackers were a huge question mark in my mind but they really impressed me as well. The Defensive Line and the Linebacker shut down the run game and that dominate QB. Overall a very good opening performance for the Tigers especially for the heat of the day.

As you know, Hurricane Gustav is making landfall tomorrow and where I live we lose power very easily. That said it might be a while before I am able to make some posts. Please keep the people in South Louisiana in your thoughts and prayers in hope that the storm does not take any lives and many homes.

The Annoucement of my Freshman

Every year pick a freshman along with my friends of who we think will make the biggest impact @ LSU. In 2006, I picked Keiland Williams. Last year I selected Terrance Tolliver. THIS YEAR IS....

Patrick Peterson!!!!! (Johnson) #7

My friends picked him as well, but of course they had to bend the rules and pick a redshirt freshman too. So that pick is ....

Phelon Jones!!!
My friend picked Stefoin Francois!!!

Game is tomorrow @ 10am now. That is so wrong in so many ways you have no idea.

Byrd says they are ready to open up can..

of whoop@$$. In ESPN.com SEC blog Byrd talks about the upcoming season, quarterback, Appalachian State, and this year compared to last year. I love him. He is one of my favorite players. He is seriously ready for Saturday!!!
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/sec/0-1-258/Byrd--LSU-ready-to-open-up-some-you-know-what.html

Things That I see happening this year in College Football

- Michigan loses opener to Utah
- Ohio State Beats USC, easily
- Alabama having another okay season putting doubts in Nick Saban
- Clemson beating Alabama
- LSU winning a close game at Auburn and having only one loss, Flordia
- LSU brings back its fourth quarter come back to beat Georgia
- Georgia having at least 2 losses before November
- LSU meeting Flordia for a second time in Atlanta
- USC losing to an unranked team, again. (When I say unranked, like lower than 60)
- LSU will have a two quarterback offense (Just don't ask me who)
- Arkansas will be this year's Ole Miss
- Mississippi State will suprise someone
- Notre Dome will flop again
- Oklahoma will play Ohio State in Miami
UPDATE: - A Texas Tech player will win the Heisman.

LSU is #6 in Stewart Mandel Rankings

One of my favorite sports writer, Stewart Mandel, has power rankings every week. His release his for this week with LSU being #6. He is a AP voters as well a writer for Sports Illustrated.

5 More Players on Watch Lists

5 more players are put on watch list for major awards. Lombardi Award, which was given to Glenn Dorsey last year, is given to best interior lineman which would include defensive and offensive lines, linebackers, and tight ends. Darry Beckwith, Tyson Jackson, and Herman Johnson are all on the Lombardi Watch List. Colt David is on the watch list for the Lou Groza Award which is given to the best place kicker. Brett Helms is on the Rimington Watch list for the best senior. Ben Wikerson is the last tiger to win this award in 2004.

Quarterbacks Preview

Quarterbacks is the most diverse position, but it is also the one with least experience. Andrew Hatch is the only one to take a snap or throw the ball in a actual game. Jarrett Lee was reshirted last year making him able to learn the Gary Crowton's offense. Jordan Jefferson is the true freshman that is making people look. He is dual threat QB with great athleticism. He is the more talented and athletic quarterback which is best for the SEC,but he has only practiced with the varsity for 4 weeks. Jarrett Lee has had some back problems keeping him out of practice making Andrew Hatch look like your starter for Saturday. Andrew Hatch is a more reserved listed as a duel threat quarterback with great knowledge of Crowton's offensive. Jarrett Lee reminds me of Matt Flynn with a little more power in his throw. Jordan Jefferson is a very athletic quarterback who can scramble well. I said this before the coaches should start a different quarterback in each game so each can get the feel of the offense. No only can you see their reactions under pressure, but you will give the new defensive coordinator at Auburn a serious headache.

Projected Starters: Andrew Hatch, but don't expect to see him all season

Real Deal: Jordan Jefferson

In Sum: C as well. They diversity at quarterback could be a serious advantage, but the lack in experience will show sometimes.

Links to some stories that aren't that good

This week is going to kill me. There is so much stuff coming out it is crazy. I still haven't been able to check all of my sites.

I hate this guy. He is the same guy who said Alabama will win the west because they have the best quarterback in the country, John Parker Wilson. He is another writer on crack. He previews pretty well though. I am better.

Another person telling LSU to watch out. I think we get the point. Les Miles is a former Michigan man; he felt the sting enough. He knows his team will have to play well this Saturday.
http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/8481156/Can-Appalachian-State-stun-the-world-...-again?

LSU receives a bunch of Herbie Awards

Kirk Herbstriet is earning some major Brownie points with me this week. He put out (don't go to the gutter people) his annual Herbie Awards and no they are not 60 something car. LSU's players got serious praise in this year's awards. The LSU winners are listed below

Demetrius Byrd- #5 Best Receivers
Herman Johnsoon- #5 Dream Offensive Line-The Hogmollies
Richard Dickson- #4 Best Tight Ends
Tyson Jackson- #1 Defensive End- Sack Masters
Ricky Jean-Francois- #1 Defensive Tackles- not you everyday run-suffers
Chad Jones- #3 Safeties- these guys belong on a poster
Keiland Williams- What's my name- household names by the end of September
LSU Student Section- #3 Best Student Sections (Don't worry he has a good reason)
Herman Johnson, Tyson Jackson, Ricky Jean-Francois- Members of the All-uni team- What a college team should look like
Ruffino's- #4 Favorite Resturants (I know this has nothing to do with LSU,but I am an All-Louisiana Girl too.)

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/preview08/news/story?id=3548678

MIles isn't set on a Starter for QB

Coach Miles still hasn't decided on a starter for the much questionable quarterback slot. Even though it looks like Andrew Hatch will be the starter because of Jarrett Lee missing practice last week for back problems. Coach Miles says he is fine now.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/football/ncaa/specials/preview/2008/08/26/lsu.miles.ap/index.html

I would start a different QB each of the first 3 games. That way you could test all of them putting your front runner for Saturday. Not only would you get a view of all of them in action; you would also not give Auburn a set game plan. Their defense would not know what QB to prepare for. Just what I would do, but hey I am not the highest paid college coach in America so I will leave that one to him.

Linebacker Preview

Second to last is Linebackers. This is becasue again the serious lack of experience. Darry Beckwith is the only returning starter. He has been battling injury, but I was told by the team's doctor himself that he will be fine and ready to go. Kevin Sheppard and Jacob Cutrera are the ones who stood out. There are a bunch of redshirts and freshman that need experience. To be honest this is the position I know the least about.

Projected Starters: Kevin Sheppard, Darry Beckwith, and Jacob Cutrera

Real Deal: Jacob Cutrera

In Sum: C+ If I don't know many back-ups that should show the lack of experience here. Darry Beckwith will be a great role model.

Tolliver getting better

There is something that I do every year. I pick an incoming freshman as that class's breakout player. Two years ago I picked Keiland Williams. Last year I picked Terrance Tolliver. This year's freshman I will post later this week. Tolliver didn't play much, but he did have 19 catches for 3 TDs. The Baton Rouge Advocate spot lighten him in today's paper and it is another awesome article. Today is just a good day for writers.

It is way too early for this but...

I liked it. The Houma Courier has an article today about the possiblity of LSU in the BCS Title Game. Normally I would never post something like this, but I really enjoyed this article.

Then in the Baton Rouge Advocate has a similar article, but it is mainly about Kirk Herbstriet belief in LSU's possiblity of repeating. Yes I did say Kirk Herbstriet, the same guy who said Les Miles was leaving LSU for Michigan and prompted the "Have a Great Day" speech. After reading this, he got 2 brownie points with me. If he posts his own article on this topic, I'll let you know.

Special Teams Preview

I really struggled on deciding the bottom 3, but special teams in next. This would be higher, but like cornerback there is little experience. Colt David is the returning place kicker. LSU lost its great punter but the Tigers do have some quality back-ups. Brady Dalfrey is the only player listed as a punter, but he has not seen the field. He emerged this spring as the starter. Keiland Williams and Trindon Holliday should still return the kick-offs, but not be surprised if you see Chad Jones or Richard Murphy back there. Chad Jones returned punts last year, and I am still not sure if I like it. Chad Jones is a great special teams player for coverage and I am not not sure he is worth the risk. When he has the ball, he doesn't want to go down which could be a good thing or it can cause fumbles or injury. I would really like to see Keiland Williams returning punts similar to Skylar Green. Richard Murphy would work for me as well.

Projected Starters: Colt David, Brady Dalfrey. Williams and Holliday- Kick-offs, Jones- punts

Real Deal: Trindon Holliday

In sum: C+ The lack in experience at punter scares me and punt returns were weak last year.

Les and Defense in more rankings

Foxsports.com has seems to be making rankings of their own and no offense to them, they suck. They have Les Miles ranked as the 12th coach in the country. Even Florida fans would have put him higher than that. That is just the beginning. Sylvester Croom wasn't even on the list and some coaches with losing teams and worse seasons are in the top 20.
For their Defensive unit rankings LSU is #4 which is understandable but some of the others, I didn't even know that had a defensive cordinator. This is also the same people who said that John Parker Wilson was one of the best QB in the country and he woul led Alabama to the SEC Championship. What type of crack are these people on??
